I've combined two fun challenges today. I really enjoyed today's easy WCW challenge which made a neat birch forest. I love the technique of the black paint on the edge of the card to make the trees come to life. For Jean's "Revitalize" VSN challenge, I used three different shades of green watercolor for the background. I also added green bushes and a green frog. I was excited to try my new Kuretake Gansai Shinbi watercolors that I bought on clearance last week. You know I've been way to cheap to actually buy a set of watercolors, but I couldn't pass up the half off deal. They feel nice, so I'm looking forward to a more rigorous test for them in the future. Anyway, for the second part of Jean's challenge, I used a sentiment about living life and no flowers (not a challenge for me). I knew this card was going to take a while, so I was going to just make one to stay in my one hour limit, but I accidentally started making two (force of habit), and just went ahead making the two. I ended up with 1 hour, 9 minutes on my stopwatch when I finished. Not bad.

I love how you always put your own unique twist on the challenges...those boating buddies are so cute! And you had me laughing at the precision of your time keeping.

So glad you enjoyed the WCW challenge. You are so right about the
ink on the trees bringing them to life. I found that so much fun. Your card is adorable for both challenges. Love those trees.
